DeepCanary adds a local task inbox for DeepSeek Harness
DeepCanary is a task inbox and local notification plugin for DeepSeek Harness. It is aimed at developers who run harness sessions in the background and may miss the moment a task stops to ask for an answer or approval. The core idea is triage. Instead of treating every task update as an interruption, DeepCanary separates items that need a response from routine completions and reminders deferred for later. Selecting an item shows its details, and a DSH button returns you to the corresponding session to reply or approve there. Items can also be acknowledged to clear them from Pending or snoozed for a later return. How the inbox sorts attention The README describes three views. Pending holds questions, approvals, and task updates that need attention. Snoozed holds reminders scheduled for later. Activity holds routine completions, context compaction, and tasks you stopped. That split matters for production use: completions do not compete with blocking approvals for the same visual priority. C3: DSH is waiting for an answer or approval before it can continue C2: An error or unusual task state needs checking C1: A routine update is available in Activity Alert settings let you set a minimum alert level, quiet hours, and an hourly limit for C2 interruptions. C3 reminders can still appear during quiet hours and after the C2 limit is reached, which is a sensible default for blocking prompts. In WebUI, notifications require allowing notifications for the DSH site and leaving a DSH tab open. On Windows, you allow notifications from the browser or DeepSeek Harness, and the desktop app can receive them while minimized or hidden if it is still running. Clicking a notification returns you to the reminder and session. The panel itself is movable and resizable by dragging, with a Layout menu to dock, expand, restore, or reset it. Layout is remembered on the device, the list keeps its scroll position in narrow windows when you return from a reminder, and keyboard move or resize is available through Layout with arrow keys, Shift for larger steps, Enter to confirm, and Escape to cancel. Install paths and readiness signals DeepCanary 0.1.9-rc.1 requires DSH 0.2.1-rc.5 or 0.2.2-alpha.3 and later, and the README points readers to Node.js requirements for WebUI
